Dedicated to the memory of Patrick Joseph Noel Shaughnessy
On Saturday 19th August 2023, Patrick Joseph Noel Shaughnessy (fondly known as Noel) died of complications relating to an ongoing struggle with prostate cancer. Born in Bagenalstown, Ireland in 1939, Noel moved to England early in his life and started, among many other things, a wide and wonderful family, including three daughters and four immediate grandchildren.
He was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2018 and fought bravely, undergoing various rounds of treatment over the course of five years.
As a Father, Grandfather and friend, he is remembered for his generosity, contagious spirit and wicked sense of humour. Above all else though, his commitment to his family was fierce and unyielding.
